Buyer Be Aware

I would like to make it very clear that this review is NOT aimed at the Knife Guy,but SQUARELY at CASE xx products.I have always had a soft spot for slip joint knives be it single or multi blades. So when I had the opportunity to buy a Case xx I jumped at the opportunity. This specific model appealed to me out of a looks and price point of view.I received the knife in a FACTORY SEALED box.On breaking the seal and removing the knife my joy soon turned to disappointment and dismay. All of what CASE xx claims about their knives does not apply to this model. The fit and finish of the blades leave much to be desired.Firstly the tip of the clip blade rubs against the spey blade marring the tip of the clip blade by rubbing a groove in it.Secondly the so called mirror finish on the blade has a few cloudy spots on them.Thirdly the "Razor Sharp" CASE Tru Sharp blades are actually either a bad joke or a don't care attitude towards their customers. The blades are allegedly sharpened by "Professionals ",It actually looks more like a novice took to a bench grinder with the blades and they are nearly as dull as a rock, the blades just manage to cut/tear through paper. As I said a really disappointing experience.I have Chinese made Kershaws and Buck knives that is way ahead of this CASE xx knife in fit, finish and sharpness.Case xx should be ashamed of themselves to let products of this substandard fit, finish and quality leave their factory. They are writing cheques with their mouths that they cannot cash with their customers.I would most definitely not recommend any customer from buying this specific model CASE xx.I will in all likelihood see if I can sort out those poorly done edges and then chuck the knife in my car's glove box and keep it there for those occasions when some Muppet comes and ask you "Can I please borrow a knife from you?"we all know how that usually end.
