Description

The perfect cutting companion for city dwellers, the Urban Lightweight is the latest evolution of the original Urban. As a member of the SLIPIT family, it provides the advantages of clip carry and one-hand opening, but with a socially friendly non-locking mechanism. Its leaf-shaped blade is full-flat ground from N690CO stainless steel for outstanding edge geometry and features an index-finger choil to help prevent unintentional closure during use. True to its name, the Urban Lightweight features a textured, fiberglass-reinforced-nylon handle that keeps it feather light while still providing a full, secure grip. A reversible, deep-pocket wire clip completes the package, offering convenient tip-up carry on both sides of the body. The knife does not lock for legality concerns yet still has a strong half stop mechanism to safely close the blade.

Small but not to be underestimated

Despite being a slip joint, the knife opening and closing are a bit tougher than your normal Victorinox.

Of course, being Spyderco, the knife comes extremely sharp out the box.

The small form factor and clip allow the knife to comfortably ride low in a pocket. The knife is a premium knife.

I am very happy with the blade geometry, weight of the knife, finishing and mechanism. The little blade outperforms its size.
