When you hold a Spyderco knife in your hand you know you are holding quality. Each Spyderco knife is backed by more than 30 years of research and development to find the right steels and handle materials. All Spyderco knives have been ergonomically designed to open easily and fit comfortably in the hand while cutting. And each pocketknife will hang out in your pocket until you need it. Almost all Spyderco folding knife models feature the thumb hole pull for easy, one handed opening. Most have a pocket/belt clip for convenient carrying.

Originally designed to condense the defining features of Spyderco's Military Model into a more compact format, the Paramilitary took the knife world by storm. Its second-generation version, the Paramilitary 2, reigns as one of the most popular folding knife designs ever created and continues to inspire an expanding family of variations. The lean, open-backed design, nested stainless steel liners, and high-strength Compression Lock mechanism of this highly evolved folder complement a full-flat-ground blade, an oversized Trademark Round Hole, and a four-position clip. Together, the synergy of these elements yields a truly exemplary cutting tool that has had a profound impact on modern knife design.

Great Para 2 version

The PM 2 is not a legend for nothing.I was surprised by the edge durability on this S45VN. Cut about 24 large heavy duty carton boxes up in small pieces and the factory edge is still sharp. Spot on heat treatment by Spyderco

Now I know why this knife gets so much praise. My other blades are not getting any pocket time. Believe the hype - This is an EDC icon.

I didn't want to like it, but it is the benchmark so picked one up. Instant convert. And a second as I will customise one with flytanium scales, do electric etchings and commit other heresies so it is less intimidating when people borrow it in the office. Fantastic, very solid, very smooth and very strong workhorse, provided one does not do something stupid and use the tip to open paint tins etc. Extremely comfortable. It often replaces my Native 5s as an everyday carry. It is not beautiful, but like the Native 5 (which is a nice looking nice) it is a master study in good functional design, and it was designed as a workhouse, and not a 'drawer queen'. My hobbies end up with using cheap nylon rope and some woodwork - its a great blade size and geometry for that. Great geometry for food prep in a pinch - often end up at B&Bs with just one usable kitchen knife. Can't comment on blade retention yet.

Great product and Service

Spyderco U.S.A. build Quality, fit and finish is perfect. Blade is centered and drops shut. The CPM-S45VN is a New Generation Steel and Spyderco's Heat Treatment is well-done, edge retention is on the upper range for this type of Steel.

Knifeguy's service can't be faulted, you're not likely to find better. Thank you for making a difference Martin!
